How your Donations Help
All cash donations are currently used 100% for running Rett’s Roost retreats. Your financial support ensures that families can attend retreats for free. The more money we raise, the more retreats we’ll be able to offer for kids of all ages, similar diagnoses, and bereaved families.
The Many Ways to Donate
We accept both cash and in-kind donations to Rett’s Roost. Please check out the many ways you can offer support. If you are thinking of an alternative way to giving besides a cash donation, please contact Deana Cavan at email@example.com.
Become a Sustaining Member – Whether it’s $2.22, $22, or $222 a month, having regular donors will ensure that Rett’s Roost continues to grow. Sustaining donors can choose to make a recurring donation by clicking the button above. For $22 or more per month, we will send you a Rett’s Roost gift.
Sponsor a Family – Help us raise money for a specific family to attend one of our retreats. We have families contact us from across the country. In order to fly a family of four, we’ve calculated that it costs about $2,200 in most cases, which includes a rental car to get to the retreat and sometimes a hotel near the airport. Contact us if you are interested.
Create your own Fundraiser – Have you ever used an online peer-to-peer fundraising site? It’s easy and we have one for you to use (click Become a Fundraiser). Many people who run races like to run for a cause, for example, and they can create their own website. You might have a social network that you can tap that doesn’t know about Rett’s Roost yet. It’s a great way to spread the word about our organization and to easily accept tax deductible donations for us.
Participate in our Events – No events are planned at the moment, but we hope to have the Superhero 5K again next year. It was such a success! You can also plan your own event and we’ll help you create and online donation campaign website that’s easy to design and share.
Employee Matching – Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees. If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. One of our biggest corporate supporters is Liberty Mutual’s Give with Liberty Program, and we’ve also received donations from employees at Bank of America and Microsoft.
Non-cash Assets – While cash donations are always welcome, there are other ways to accomplish your philanthropic goals by donating non-cash investment assets. Donating investment assets avoids taxes due on their sale, permits a larger deduction for the donor and a larger gift to the charity. Rett’s Roost can be named a beneficiary of investment account types such as annuities, IRAs and life insurance. Donations may also be made to Rett’s Roost in the form of publicly traded stocks of bonds.
Other ideas – Donate in memoriam of a loved one in lieu of flowers, instead of gifts at a kid’s birthday party ask parents to donate to Rett’s Roost, instead of favors at a wedding donate a dollar for each one of your guests.
