Experience a healing long weekend at our Rett’s Roost Heart-quarters in Ogunquit, ME. This weekend is best for families that are raising young children that never knew or were very young when their sibling passed.
Everly Jane was born two weeks after the first anniversary of Rett’s death. She guided our hearts to love again. While Rett was our first, some families are taking care of multiple young children when one child is going through cancer treatment and hospice care. Children who do not yet understand what death means are innocent and can make the whole experience a lot harder or a little easier. Couples sometimes choose to have another during cancer treatment or soon after death. These are all complicated situations that are not always easy to untangle.
Our goal at Rett’s Roost is to help people experience joy through their grief with their children and in their personal lives. The retreat runs from Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning so it provides more than two full days of therapeutic support and connecting with others. Besides allowing plenty of time to relax, we offer supportive, optional activities to connect with others and to heal within.
Each family will have their own bedroom (please ask if you need your own bathroom). There is a hot tub on-site and transit to the beach one day. Rett’s Roost staff will be providing three delicious, healthy meals a day. We’ll be offering grief support, yoga, art, and music for both parents and children. Also, get a massage, energy treatment and professional outdoor family portraits taken.
