Be a part of our second bereavement retreat of the summer in Ogunquit for families with children old enough to understood about the death of their sibling.
When we lost Everett to cancer, we felt the need to befriend other families that had also lost a child. We felt comfort knowing we weren’t alone in this harrowing new journey as bereaved parents. At Rett’s Roost’s bereavement retreats, we hope to help parents and siblings open their hearts again to life and love after the traumatic loss of a child with cancer.
This retreat runs from Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning so it provides more than two full days of therapeutic support and connecting with others. Besides allowing plenty of time to relax, we offer supportive, optional activities to connect with others and to heal within. The programming will be geared toward families with kids 7-14 years old and their parents.
Each family will have their own bedroom (please ask if you need your own bathroom). There is a hot tub available on-site and transit to the beach one day. Rett’s Roost staff will be providing three delicious, healthy meals a day. We’ll be offering grief support, yoga, art, and music for both parents and children. Also, get a massage, energy treatment and professional outdoor family portraits taken.
