Our bereavement retreat in August this year is for families with teenage children willing to think about and share some of their experiences and emotions around life without their sibling.
We also know that teenagers sometimes need to put the pain aside and just be normal again. Our goal is to offer both reflective release and hopeful perspective to both parents and their children, along with some good ole-fashioned vacation fun. Hopefully, new friendships will form between families. We squeeze a lot into the long weekend, so make sure they are prepared to turn off their devices and be present with the group as much as they can.
This retreat runs from Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning so it provides more than two full days of therapeutic support and connecting with others. Besides allowing plenty of time to relax, we offer supportive, optional activities to connect with others and to heal within. The programming will be geared toward families with kids 14-18 years old and their parents.
Each family will have their own bedroom (please ask if you need your own bathroom). There is a hot tub available on-site and transit to the beach one day. Rett’s Roost staff will be providing three delicious, healthy meals a day. We’ll be offering grief support, yoga, art, and music for both parents and teens. Also, get a massage, energy treatment and professional outdoor family portraits taken.
